We embrace linguistic and neurodiversity

Our focus is on the whole child. Screening is about more than ticking boxes. It is about early attunement. By noticing signs of ADHD, autism, and differences in communication, we:

  • Spot challenges and strengths sooner

  • Build trust and reduce frustration

  • Support children in ways that feel natural to them

  • Ensure families get the right guidance early

👉 Screening with attunement means children are not only identified but also understood. This gives them the best chance to thrive.

NeuroReadies Training

Highly Specialised Neurodiversity Training – £975 plus travel for a 3-hour in-house session
Delivered by the creator of the NeuroReadies® Learning Pathway, an expert in teaching neurodivergent children to read.

This training equips staff to implement the pathway so that teaching assistants can lead one-to-one sessions. It is suitable for non-speaking autistic children and is not an adaptation of synthetic phonics.
For multi-academy trusts or larger group bookings, please contact us for tailored rates. Play@MyWordz.com

Children who have struggled to learn phonics through the synthetic phonics approach often later explain how much Code Mapping® (showing the graphemes in black and grey) and Speech Sound Monsters® (Phonemies) helped them. By making the sound value of each grapheme visible, these tools allowed them to understand the connection between letters and sounds in a way that had not been clear before. Especially for high frequency (sight) words.

Alfie is lucky enough to be Speech Sound Mapping as part of his EHCP in BCP

This is Alfie. He is autistic and has SLCN, and after two years of using the most widely used phonics programme in England he was still unable to read or spell even the simplest words. Everything changed when he was introduced to Speech Sound Mapping®. Alfie now understands what reading and spelling really are, and this support is written into his EHCP.
He is in Bournemouth.
Alfie has a long way to go but his story shows what is possible when children are given the right tools for their brains. Many children need this kind of help, but schools do not always have the resources or training to provide it. By making phonics more visual and more focused on how the language actually works, we can give every child the full picture and the best chance to succeed. Even if they aren't lucky enough to have it embedded into Section F of their EHCP, and therefore a legal require,

Learning Whisperers®: The Early Dyslexia Screening Centre
Helping families, educators, and professionals notice and understand how each child learns and communicates

Who We Support

Learning Whisperers® is not only for families concerned about dyslexia risk. We recognise that many children struggle long before literacy begins, and that early attunement can make the difference between thriving and falling behind. Our Free Early Screening Centre supports:

  • Non-speaking or minimally verbal children. Some children cannot yet rely on spoken words to communicate. Early screening helps us understand their needs and guide families and educators to the right tools and supports.

  • Children with apraxia, unclear, or inconsistent speech. These children often know what they want to say but find it difficult to produce clear and consistent sounds. By noticing this early, we can recommend strategies and technology that reduce frustration and build confidence.

  • Children who can understand spoken words but cannot read or spell. These children may appear capable in conversation but struggle when faced with text. Early screening helps identify processing differences that affect both speech and literacy.

  • Parents, educators, and speech therapists. We work with the adults around each child, offering simple, sound-based tools that support speech sound processing, reading, and spelling. Our focus is on making communication and literacy accessible to all brains.

Why This Matters

Early attunement to ADHD, autism, and other learning differences is critical. It means paying attention to how a child expresses themselves, noticing the small signals, and responding in ways that help them feel safe and understood. This reduces frustration, builds trust, and opens the door to learning. Screening then becomes more than a test: it is a process of seeing the whole child and matching them with supports that respect their unique way of learning and communicating.

👉 Learning Whisperers® combine free early screening with careful attunement, so children are not only identified but also understood. This ensures every child has the best chance to develop communication, reading, and spelling skills with confidence.
